Christmas and New Year flights 2026: book the date, then keep the cashback

By early November the Christmas seats that are left are the ones you can still choose. The trick is the date, not a slogan. Cashback is what you keep after the fare is real.

Christmas and New Year flights 2026: book the date, then keep the cashback

Christmas flights 2026 are a scarcity problem. The weekends of 19 December, 26 December, and 2 January are when everyone moves. Cashback does not add seats. It reduces what an eligible booking costs after you fly, once you have already found a fare you will actually pay. Holipay is where that second step happens: compare airlines and agencies, pay them, earn up to 10% back on eligible trips. No membership.

What still works in November

If you are reading this with Christmas inside eight weeks, flexibility beats a perfect airport. The levers that still move the price:

  • Fly out 18–20 December or 27–29 December instead of the 23rd and the 24th, if the office allows it.
  • Return 2–4 January, or on a Tuesday, instead of Sunday 3 January.
  • Check the other airport in the city. A longer bus is cheaper than a flight that no longer exists.
  • One checked bag can erase the "deal." Price the bag before you fall in love with the base fare.

Search those dates on Holipay. If two fares are close, the cashback estimate is a tie-break, not a reason to take a fare that is €80 worse. Up to 10% is the ceiling. The card shows an estimate. The wallet shows what the partner confirmed after you travel. Withdrawals start at €100, in euros, to PayPal or a bank.

New Year is a different search

The outbound for New Year's Eve is the same scarce pool as Christmas if you leave on the 30th or 31st. The return, 2–6 January, is often kinder. Split the problem: lock the outbound, stay flexible on the way home if the ticket allows it. A non-refundable holiday fare is how people pay twice.

Where to go is a taste question. An assistant is good at that. It is bad at holding a seat. Ask it for three cities and the off-peak days, then price them yourself. That handoff is written out here.

Questions

Is it too late to book Christmas flights?

Too late for the exact Friday-to-Sunday everyone else wanted, on some routes. Not too late for a midweek departure or the other airport. Search before you decide it is gone.

Does cashback make a Christmas fare cheap?

It makes an eligible fare cheaper after you fly. It does not create a €40 fare on 23 December. Compare first.

Who do I pay?

The airline or the agency in the result. Holipay does not sell the ticket. How it works is the short version. The definition, for anyone who just wants the product in one paragraph, is compare flights and get cashback.
