Holipay vs Google Flights: keep the price graph, add cashback

Google Flights is the cleanest calendar in flight search. Holipay does not try to outdraw it. Holipay pays you after the date is chosen.

Holipay vs Google Flights: keep the price graph, add cashback

Google Flights is the best calendar most people will ever use for airfare. It tracks, it graphs, and it will not send you a cent. Holipay will not draw a better date grid. The useful version of this comparison is a sequence: find the dates in Google, book the matching fare where cashback exists.

Google will tell you the fare moved. It will not pay you for booking it.

What you are actually using Google for

Google Flights logo Google Flights is a metasearch inside Google Travel. The date grid shows which days are cheap. Tracking watches a route. Explore is for when the city is optional. On a normal search you do not pay Google. You continue to the airline or to an agency, and that company issues the ticket.

The graph answers "is this a normal price, and did it just drop?" It does not answer "who pays me for clicking book?" Nothing in that product is a wallet.

Why "Google Flights cashback" is the wrong search

There isn't a cashback balance. Price insights and email alerts are information. If a fare falls £40, you saved £40 because you waited, not because Google rebated the commission. People mix those up, then feel short-changed by a tool that never offered a rebate.

Holipay is the other half. Search 500+ airlines and agencies, no markup, no membership. You still pay the provider. Eligible trips can earn up to 10% back, which is a ceiling, not a promise. The card shows an estimate. The wallet shows the confirmed amount after you fly. Withdrawals are in euros, to PayPal or a bank, from €100.

A tracked fare, finished on Holipay

Say you have been watching London to Lisbon for three weeks. Google tells you the fare dropped into a range you will actually pay. Open Holipay with those airports and dates. If the airline price matches, book through Holipay. The drop belongs to the airline. Any cashback belongs to the partner commission, and only if the trip completes.

If Holipay is meaningfully more expensive, book the Google result and skip the cashback. A 10% ceiling on a fare that is already €80 higher is a loss. Do the subtraction before you get loyal to a logo.

Kayak's seven-day forecast is a different kind of "should I wait" tool. It is covered in Holipay vs Kayak, and it is still not cashback. Skyscanner's month view is the flexible-destination cousin, in Holipay vs Skyscanner.

What the graph does not itemise

A green day on the grid is a fare, not a trip. Basic economy can sit in that cell with no seat choice and a bag that costs more than the "saving" versus the next date. Google has got better at showing bags, and you should still open the airline's fare family before you treat two dates as equal. Holipay has the same duty: the cashback estimate is calculated on the fare you are shown, not on the bag you add at the airport.

If two Holipay results are €15 apart and the cheaper one is a different airport or a self-connect, take the one you would actually fly. Cashback does not pay for a taxi between airports.

When Google should be the whole trip

Multi-city puzzles, a map of "anywhere warm in March," or a week when you only need to know the fare is normal. If cashback is irrelevant to you, stop after Google. Holipay is not a prettier calendar. It is a paid-back booking.

Questions before you switch tabs

Is Holipay better than Google Flights?

For finding dates, no. For getting money back on a fare you have already judged, yes, when the price matches and the booking qualifies.

Does Google Flights charge a fee?

Search is free. You pay the airline or agency you continue to. Holipay works the same way and adds no markup of its own.

Will the cashback match the percentage in the ad?

"Up to 10%" is the ceiling. Check the estimate, then trust the confirmed wallet credit. Details are on how it works.

Can I track a price and earn cashback in one place?

Not here. Track in Google. Book on Holipay when you are ready.
