Kayak will tell you whether it thinks a round-trip fare is about to rise or fall. Holipay will not. Holipay can pay you after the provider confirms you flew. If you came here to hear that one search box replaces the other, it doesn't. One of them forecasts. The other settles up.
What the forecast really is
Kayak
looks at a huge pile of searches and, on some round-trips, draws a view of the next seven days: likely up, likely down, with a confidence level. Kayak's own pricing help says the quiet part. The model needs enough history. One-way searches do not get the graph. Unusual routes often get nothing. And a forecast is not a guarantee, which is why they publish confidence beside it.
Use it as weather. If confidence is high and the arrow points down, waiting a few days can be rational. If you buy because a widget said "buy" and the fare jumps anyway, nobody owes you the difference. Momondo, in the same family, does not lean on this seven-day call. Its habit is the price calendar, covered in Holipay vs Momondo.
Hacker fares are two tickets
A Kayak Hacker Fare is a round-trip built from two one-ways, sometimes on two airlines, sometimes into two airports in the same city. Kayak explains the mechanic: they only surface the combination when it saves time or money, and you should open both booking pages before you pay for either. Bags, changes, and a missed connection are separate problems. The cheap total is real only if both seats still exist when you pay.
is not in the business of stapling two airlines together and calling it one deal. You compare 500+ airlines and agencies and book one provider. If you want the hacker fare, build it on Kayak. Then check each leg on Holipay only if you are willing to manage two tickets and the cashback still matters after that risk.
Cashback is the line Kayak leaves blank
Kayak does not pay a wallet. Search is free. You continue to the airline or agency and pay them. Holipay does the same redirect, with no markup and no fee to use it, and eligible flights can earn up to 10% back. The figure in the result is an estimate. The partner's confirmation after you travel is the payment. Euros, PayPal or bank, from €100.
A forecast that saves you €30 by waiting beats a cashback estimate of €12 on a fare you bought too early. Run that race honestly. Cashback does not refund impatience.

When Kayak earns the only tab
You want the forecast and you trust it enough to wait. You are building a multi-city trip and Kayak's filters are doing the work. You are deliberately booking two one-ways and you do not care about a wallet. Google's date grid is the other "should I buy" screen; it is in Holipay vs Google Flights. None of those tools pay you. That is fine if payment was never the question.
Questions
Should I wait because Kayak says the price will drop?
Only if the forecast is showing and the confidence is something you can live with. Kayak says the model can be wrong. Holipay will not second-guess it.
Are hacker fares safe?
They are two bookings. Safe enough if you can afford a change on one side without the other airline helping. Not safe enough if you need a protected connection.
Is Holipay a Kayak alternative?
For "compare providers and earn cashback," yes. For "tell me if I should wait a week," no. Keep Kayak for that.
Where does Holipay cashback go?
To your wallet after the trip is confirmed, then to PayPal or a bank from €100. How Holipay works is the short version.
